The “Eastern Route” of the China-Europe Railway Express has surpassed 4,500 train trips this year.
Harbin, People’s Daily Online, October 16 (Shang Cheng) – According to information from China Railway Harbin Group Co., Ltd., since the beginning of this year, the “Eastern Route” of the China-Europe Railway Express has seen a total of 4,583 trains pass through the Manzhouli, Suifenhe, and Tongjiang railway ports, transporting 489,000 TEUs of cargo—increases of 9% and 21.9% year-on-year, respectively. Among them, the Manzhouli railway port handled 3,891 trains, carrying 420,000 TEUs of cargo, while the Suifenhe railway port saw 684 trains transporting 68,000 TEUs—a record high for both locations. In the third quarter of this year, the Tongjiang railway port, which made its first-ever China-Europe Railway Express trip, operated 8 trains, transporting 880 TEUs of cargo, thereby opening up a new international rail transport route for the China-Europe Railway Express.
Currently, the “Eastern Route” of the China-Europe Railway Express connects 13 countries, including Russia, Poland, Germany, and Belgium, linking more than 60 cities within China. With 24 active routes, the service now covers 12 major categories of goods, including electrical appliances, daily necessities, industrial machinery, metals, agricultural and sideline products, timber, and more.
